About the artists

Leanne Ross works on a project called (Kiss my Art) - KMAdotcom is an artist studio based in Mayfield, Midlothian where artist‘s with and without learning disabilities work together. are fourteen artists who produce artwork inspired by their interests and personalities. The studio is a space to experiment with ideas, materials and processes.

Ross has been involved in for over five years. Her ‘shout out’ poster paintings are snippets of her conversations in the studio. Ross‘ words are matched with colours which she meticulously journals throughout the year. Although Ross’ language is personal to her, whenever she exhibits, her words resonate loudly with others. Simultaneously poetic and brutal, echoing techniques seen within concrete poetry.

Laura Aldridge’s work moves freely between wall-based reliefs and sculptural installations, playing on the abilities of ‘collage’ to operate in two and three-dimensions. Her works use fabric, images (both photographic and silk-screened) and found objects to create installations that the artist describes as ‘expanded collage’. She often arranges elements of her works upon tables, low plinths or across gallery walls to bring ‘things’ together so that they might coalesce as a whole.

Aldridge (b. 1978, Frimley; lives and works in Glasgow).
