About the artwork
This new edition for House of Voltaire has been made in a unique collaboration between Thuring and Deshayes. Bringing the artist's practice together for the first time, they worked closely with a master ceramist to create this striking hand painted edition. Each ceramic is slightly unique.
About the artist
Caragh Thuring (b. 1972) lives and works in London and Argyll. Recent solo exhibitions include Luisa Strina Gallery, Sao Paulo, Brazil (2019); Anthony Meier Fine Arts, San Francisco (2018), Corbett vs Dempsey, Chicago (2019); Thomas Dane Gallery, London, England (2016); Chisenhale Gallery, London, England (2014) Anthony Meier, San Francisco (2013); Simon Preston Gallery, New York (2011); and Thomas Dane Gallery, London (2010).
Nicolas Deshayes (b.1983) lives and works in London. Recent solo exhibitions include Modern Art, London (2019 & 2016); Pump House Gallery, London (2018); Basement Roma, Rome (2017); Fonderia Artistica Battaglia, Milan (2016) and Glasgow Sculpture Studios, Glasgow (2015).
Studio Voltaire has been supporting artists for over twenty years, through our renowned programme of exhibitions, performances, events and education projects as well as providing affordable studios.
We have gained a reputation for championing both emerging and underrepresented artistic practices, often at key stage in the artist’s career. The gallery also provides an important UK platform for international artists, often providing them their first-ever presentation in the UK. These have included Nairy Baghramian, Thea Djordjadze, Nicole Eisenman, Judith Hopf, Paulina Olowska and Henrik Olesen.
