About the artwork
In this exclusive edition for Studio Voltaire, British painter Charlie Billingham has continued his tradition of drawing Regency era illustrations; satirising the powdered wigs, un-done britches and perverse ribald humour that frequented populist sketches from the era. Removing these historical motifs from their context, Billingham offers the work as a decorative homage.
