In this exclusive edition for Studio Voltaire, British painter Charlie Billingham has continued his tradition of drawing Regency-era illustrations; satirizing the powdered wigs, un-done britches and perverse ribald humour that frequented populist sketches from the era. Removing these historical motifs from their context, Billingham offers the work a decorative hommage, filled with expressive gestural painting in a joyful colour palette.
