About the artwork
Michael Fullerton's work includes painting, printmaking, film and sculpture. Fullerton often works with portraiture, highlighting the interplay between representation and power. For his Studio Voltaire edition, the artist has taken a cosmetics advertisement featuring legendary model Karen Graham, the original spokesmodel for early Estée Lauder advertising campaigns. The artist has a long-standing interest in the portraiture of female pioneers including Violet Sazbo and Lady Cosgrove.
