About the artwork

Studio Voltaire presented Nicole Eisenman's first solo exhibition in a UK public gallery in 2012. Eisenman went on to win both The Carnegie Prize and The MacArthur Fellowship.

Produced especially for Studio Voltaire, Eisenman has produced a woodblock print made in collaboration with print workshop 10 Grand Press in Brooklyn, New York. The artist's practice continues to foreground portraiture and the figure, often seemingly introspective and irreverent, referencing both classical myths and popular culture. This new edition is a portrait of the artist's friend Grace Dunham.
