About the artist

Cory Arcangel (b. New York, 1978) works in various mediums, ranging from drawing, print, video, performance and video game modifications. Often using appropriation, he creatively re-uses existing physical and digital materials to create works that often explore the relationship between technology and culture. The first ever permanent House of Voltaire will open at Studio Voltaire in Clapham, London in 2021 following a £2.8 million Capital Project. First established in 2010, House of Voltaire occurred biennially as a temporary store in Mayfair and has had international presentations in Miami and Melbourne. Special projects have included Jeremy Deller's Fuck Brexit and Jeremy Deller's FUCK YOU 2020 and John Booth's The Artists' Bedroom.
