About the edition
A new edition by artist Lin May Saeed reflects her involvement in animal rights activism which closely informs her work and often question how humans have represented and inscribed animal behaviours.
Saeed’s cross-cultural narratives draw from both Western traditions and her Jewish–Arab heritage: her divergent references include the Animal Liberation Front, the Die Brücke movement and ancient Mesopotamia, they are at once allegorical, scientific and political.
This edition depicts rabbits (one of her favourite animals) leaping from one unexpected crate to the next. The artist made the edition especially for children to colour in and consider. It follows her recent exhibition at Studio Voltaire which took place in 2018.
