About the artist

Andrew Kerr (b. 1977) graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 1999, and currently lives and works in Glasgow. His work has been exhibited internationally, selected shows include: ‘Mist at the Pillars’, The Modern Institute, Glasgow (2019); ‘Andrew Kerr’, Blum and Poe, New York (2018); Wyndham School of Dancing’, The Modern Institute (2016; ‘Away with Nora’, BQ, Berlin (2015); ‘The gallery is beside a church, apartments and a small park with fountain’, Rat Hole Gallery, Tokyo (2015); I Cheer a Dead Man’s Sweetheart, De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill on Sea, UK (2014); A Picture Show, Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow, Scotland (2013); So Ensconced, Inverleith House, Edinburgh, Scotland (2011); Fizz Up and Dissolve, The Project Room, Glasgow, Scotland (2010); and Deliveries: feeling one, running one, accepting one, against one, preparing one, revising one and sending one, Kunstverein Bremerhaven, Germany (2009).

We have gained a reputation for championing both emerging and underrepresented artistic practices, often at key stage in the artist’s career. These have included Marvin Gaye Chetwynd, Phyllida Barlow, Ruth Ewan, Elizabeth Price, Jo Spence, Joanne Tatham & Tom O’Sullivan, Richard Slee and Cathy Wilkes.

The gallery also provides an important UK platform for international artists, often providing them their first-ever presentation in the UK. These have included Nairy Baghramian, Thea Djordjadze, Nicole Eisenman, Judith Hopf, Paulina Olowska and Henrik Olesen.
