    About The Artwork

    This publication is a continuation of Collier's work specially commissioned by Studio Voltaire, Women With Cameras. Composed of found and collected 35mm slides, each image featured was discarded by it's owner. Women with Cameras explores the close relationships between photography, memory and loss.

    About Anne Collier

    Anne Collier (b. 1970)  is a contemporary American artist best known for her work with appropriated imagery. By focusing her lens on mass media and found images, Collier explores irony, detachment, and identity. Her work is in direct conversation with ever-changing cultural relationships to the photographic image. 

    She has shown internationally with prestigious institutions such as Fotomuseum Winterthur, Zurich; Museum of Modern Art, New York City; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Institute of Contemporary Arts, London; Glasgow International, Glasgow; Yuz Museum, Shanghai; Guggenheim Museum, New York City; Aspen Art Museum, Colorado, and Studio Voltaire, London. Her work is held in institutional collections such as Tate Modern, London; Museum of Modern Art, New York City; and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. 

    Collier is represented by The Modern Institute and Anton Kern Gallery.
