      About The Artwork

Celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2024, Studio Voltaire has invited many major artists to revisit and reimagine some of their previous House of Voltaire releases for our “Greatest Hits”. Rooted in the spirit of queer liberation and inspired by the aesthetics of protest banners, these kantha blankets are declarations of resistance and pride. Crafted using traditional techniques and made from reclaimed and deadstock fabric, each blanket is a one-of-a-kind creation, entirely hand-embroidered by artisans from North-East India.
