About The Artwork
One of Beryl Cook's best known paintings, 'Sabotage' appeared in The Sunday Times Magazine in 1976 and signalled the acceleration of Cook's career, and a huge increase in the amount of fan mail the artist received. It was later used as the cover image for Cook's 'The Works', where the artist said "The main thing I'm after in my pictures is to get the design right. I painted this on a circular breadboard, so everything followed in circles, the arm and the hand finally ending up like this. Have you ever been tempted?"
