About The Artwork
Mary Stephenson is a London-based artist known for her atmospheric paintings exploring interior and exterior landscapes which evoke varying psychological states. For Stephenson’s edition for House of Voltaire, the artist has created a new painting to form this edition. The work features a stark landscape in dusty pink hues. Although the figure is absent from the picture plane, human presence is embedded throughout the artist's work, with a sense of longing and loss. This edition has been made exclusively to support Studio Voltaire’s artistic and public programmes.
