About Jimmy Merris
Jimmy Merris (b. 1983) is a British artist, based in London. He is best known for his broad, interdisciplinary practice including printmaking, performance, video, textile and installation work. From exploring unemployment to mass consumerism, there is a concern with economy within Merris’ work: that concern is situated in a genuinely positive, exploratory, and documentary-like practice grounded in the artists’ everyday South London life.
Merris has shown widely with institutions and galleries such as Seventeen at Frieze, London; Hordaland Kunstsenter, Bergen; Bloomberg Space, London; Dark Arts International, Mexico City; London Original Print Fair, London; American Contemporary, New York City; Bold Tendencies, London; CIRCA, London; Institute of Contemporary Art, London; and Studio Voltaire, London.
Merris is represented by Marlborough Graphics and Seventeen.
