The rolled-up rug, named "Untitled, 2024" by Christopher Farr, features a pink and black abstract design created in collaboration with Enrico David for House of Voltaire. The pattern showcases broad black lines on a pink background, evoking an artistic interpretation of leaves or waves. This limited edition rug has a soft texture and appears to be plush.
A close-up of a textured surface with an abstract pattern. The background is dark, almost black, with light pink and beige wavy lines creating a flowing design reminiscent of stylized zebra stripes. Bits of yellow peek through small gaps in the patterns, evoking the intricate style of the "Untitled, 2024" rug by Christopher Farr.

    About The Artwork

Made from hand knotted jute, wool and metallic thread, this limited edition Enrico David rug is produced to-order by artisanal rug-maker Christopher Farr. The design is based on an original drawing, which David saw as the representation of a volcanic range as seen from above. David wanted the rug to reflect the original hand-drawn qualities as much as possible - the textural and chromatic elements of the design, the irregular nature of the lines, and its positioning on ‘the page’. David works in painting, drawing, sculpture and installation, often employing traditional craft techniques. In the 1990s he garnered acclaim for creating monumental embroidered portraits using sewn canvases, which often began as drawings and collages from fashion magazines. Over the past several years Enrico has focused on sculpture in a variety of media and has also returned to more traditional methods of painting. Each rug comes with an individually numbered label on the reverse. This edition has been made especially on the occasion of Studio Voltaire's 30th Anniversary. Throughout the anniversary year, a series of limited editions by leading international artists will be released to raise important funds for Studio Voltaire's artistic and community programmes.
