    About The Artwork

These limited edition ceramic baubles present a dream-like scene, a continuation of the themes found in Donachie’s paintings. A wash of blue covers the decoration, which pictures a moonlit seascape on one side, a repeated motif in Donachie’s paintings. The other half of the bauble is coloured purple and features a loosely painted shell. This ceramic bauble hangs on a ribbon with a painted paper cutout of a hand with the edition number on the back.

    About Kaye Donachie

Kaye Donachie is a painter known for her muted, figurative paintings. Throughout her work, she interprets Avant-Garde women, using history and biography and an archive of found and personal imagery to conjure up characters and tableaus that are at once mysterious and deeply evocative. Often the paintings are a description of time and place that drift between dream and reality, an echo of the past re-imagined in the present.
