    About Hurvin Anderson

Hurvin Anderson (b.1965) is a British painter whose work engages with identity, representation, and cultural juxtapositions of diasporic experience. Working from photographs, Anderson disrupts his representational works with overlaid abstractions and patterns, exploring the instability of history and memory in a uniquely visual way.

He has shown widely with institutions and galleries such as Tate Britain, London; Studio Museum in Harlem, New York City; Tate, Liverpool; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Whitechapel Gallery, London; Tate Modern, London; Kingston Biennial, Kingston; The Hirshhorn Museum, Washington D.C; and Hayward Gallery, London.

Anderson is represented by Thomas Dane Gallery.
