A fluffy Ginger Cat, titled “Ginger Cat, 1931/2026,” with wide green eyes and a playful expression is illustrated against a vibrant, intricate, colorful patterned background reminiscent of a risograph print. The cat’s fur is meticulously detailed, its paw raised in an endearing gesture, and the signature “Louis Wain” appears in the lower left corner.

    About The Artwork

A limited-edition print featuring Louis Wain’s ‘Ginger Cat’ from 1931, created exclusively for House of Voltaire presents Beryl Cook and Friends. ‘Ginger Cat’ (1931) is a whimsical, late-period masterpiece showcasing Louis Wain's iconic anthropomorphic style and kaleidoscopic colour palette. Beryl Cook was a passionate admirer of Wain’s art, keeping a cherished collection of his postcards in her personal archive. British artist Louis Wain (1860–1939) was famous as "The Man Who Drew Cats," transforming felines into charming, human-like characters engaged in Edwardian pastimes. Painted later in his life while residing in psychiatric care, this 1931 work features brilliant colours, intricate patterns, and a mesmerising style often considered a precursor to psychedelic art.
