      About The Artwork

Created exclusively for House of Voltaire, this t-shirt has been designed by artist Magda Archer and printed in London by Fifth Column, the original designers and printers of popular punk t-shirts in the 70's. Sean Scully is known for his vital contribution to American abstract art in the 1970s and 1980s, bucking the trend for figurative Neo-Expressionism in favour of a deeply personal, lyrical language. After watching a BBC documentary about the artist, Archer was struck by Sully's character, describing him as a 'force of nature' and supporter of good things and people, hence why we all need to be a bit more like Sean Scully. All profits support Studio Voltaire’s community and learning programmes and Clapham Park Food Bank
