About The Artwork

Studio Voltaire presented Nicole Eisenman's first solo exhibition in a UK public gallery in 2012. Eisenman went on to win both The Carnegie Prize and The MacArthur Fellowship. Produced especially for Studio Voltaire, Eisenman has produced a woodblock print. The artist's practice continues to foreground portraiture and the figure, often seemingly introspective and irreverent, referencing both classical myths and popular culture. This edition is a portrait of the artist's friend Cyrus Dunham.
