About The Artwork
Exploring the thresholds between time, memory and material presence, Niklas Asker draws our gaze to what he calls “the minute particulars” – ephemeral impressions that speak volumes: shadows, folds of skin or fabric, the weathered texture of carved stone. With influences spanning from Rodin and Carl Eldh to the writings of William Blake, Asker's archeological process strips away what he describes as "unnecessary details" to present his subjects as vessels of expression. 'Temporal' is a moment suspended, a resonant meditation on what is seen and not seen, the enduring and the transient.
